Jacob Daniel Aguayo, 30, of San Angelo, died in a fiery crash on Thursday, February 29, 2024, some six miles east of Eldorado on U.S. 190. Aguayo was driving eastbound when his 2017 Ford delivery truck left the roadway and struck a tree before catching fire.

Eldorado residents reported hearing numerous helicopters passing overhead Monday evening, February 12th, with others saying that the aircraft were landing and taking off from the Schleicher County Airport.

A group of local citizens attended Monday night’s meeting of the Eldorado City Council and took the opportunity to voice their displeasure with proposed changes to the stipends council members receive as well as credit they receive for city utilities. Michelle Gonzales, 52, of Carlsbad, was killed Friday, November 22, 2023 in an apparent murder/suicide that also took the life of her estranged husband, Randy Gonzales, 58.
