WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
Separate sealed bids for the construction of WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS will be received by the TOM GREEN COUNTY FWD #2 until March 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., at their office at 508 Anson Street, Christoval, Texas 76935 and then publicly opened and read aloud. 
The Contract Documents, consisting of Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Bid Proposal, Bid Bond, Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, General Conditions, Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed,  Plans, Specifications, and Addenda (if any) may be examined at the following location:

Bids will not be received from contractors who have not obtained original plans and specifications from Jacob & Martin.  Bids shall be submitted on original documents and the entire specification book must be returned with bid.  No faxes or copies of bid sheets will be accepted. 
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids.  Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding of the contract.
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Jacob & Martin, Ltd., 3465 Curry Lane, Abilene, Texas 79606 (325-695-1070), upon payment of $50.00 for plans and specifications, all non-refundable.  Checks should be made to the order of Jacob & Martin, Ltd. 
A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the TOM GREEN COUNTY FWD #2, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.

JANUARY 2012

The Schleicher County Commissioners Court has approved the sale of the old stock show pens.  The pens will be sold by the unit.  One complete unit consists of four (4) pens per unit at a cost of $500.00 per unit.  The pens consist of square tubing frames with angle iron vertical cross sections which are approximately 4.5 feet tall.  If interested in purchasing these pens you may contact County Extension Agent Anthony Munoz @ 325-853-2132.

 


ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

JANUARY 26-FEBRUARY 2, 2012
SCHLEICHER COUNTY, TEXAS, will receive sealed bids for the SCHLEICHER COUNTY POOL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, a Schleicher County Texas project partially funded by a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.  Bids must be delivered to, and be on file with Judge Charles Bradley, at the Schleicher County Courthouse, 2 S. Divide St., Eldorado, Texas 76936 on or before 3:00 p.m., February 15, 2012, at which time all bids will be opened and read publicly at the Schleicher County Courthouse.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the Schleicher County Courthouse, 2 S. Divide St., Eldorado, Texas 76936 at 1:00 p.m., February 2, 2012. The last day to submit any questions shall be February 7, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. so that adequate time is available to issue any addenda.

The project consists of construction of approximately: a 2,110 square foot pool house building, a 2,700 square foot pool equipment building, 4,700 square foot swimming pool, 9,982 square foot concrete pool deck, a water slide, a splash pad area with interactive water features, and associated site and utility work. 

Contract Documents including bidding and contract forms, technical specifications and drawings are on file at Schleicher County Courthouse, 2 S. Divide St., Eldorado, Texas 76936 and may also be obtained from Naismith Engineering, Inc. 600 W. 8th Street, STE 300, Austin Texas 78701, (512) 708-9322. 22” X 34” hard copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $100.00, non-refundable for each set of documents obtained. Bidders wishing to receive the documents by mail must pay an additional $40.00 non-refundable postage and handling fee to cover the cost of mailing.

Potential Bidders obtaining copies of the bid/contract documents via the internet must register with the Engineer to ensure receipt of any addenda or other communication that may be issued.  Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of documents, including any addenda, obtained from any other source.

Contractors are required to comply with the Texas prevailing wages requirements established in Government Code Ch. 2258. The contractor is required to comply with regulations issued pursuant to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with respect to nondiscrimination in assisted programs of the Department. Schleicher County is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier’s check, certified check, or satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract as required by the contract documents. Schleicher County reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and to waive any and all formalities in regard thereto.  Bids will remain subject to acceptance for a period following the bid opening as specified in Section 00300 of the contract documents.
